Small business tools

Planning math for small jobs, kept local and simple.

Break-even points, hourly rates, margins, loan payments, sales tax, tips, and itemized quotes. Each calculator states its assumptions and rounds money to the cent so the numbers you show someone else hold up.

These are planning aids, not financial or tax advice, and they only use the values you enter. Currency labels do not convert; you decide what the numbers mean.

Pricing and planning

Start with the hourly rate calculator if you sell your time. It turns an income target, overhead, and a realistic share of billable hours into a rate that covers your costs. The profit margin calculator checks a price against its cost and finds the price for a target margin, avoiding the common mix-up between margin and markup. The break-even calculator tells you how many units or projects you need to sell before fixed costs are covered.

The loan payment calculator shows the monthly payment and full amortization schedule for a fixed-rate loan, which helps you compare terms before speaking to a lender. The sales tax calculator adds or extracts a tax rate you supply, useful for VAT-inclusive prices and receipts.

Quotes, invoices, and everyday bills

The quote builder creates an itemized quote with per-line tax, discounts, and a printable HTML export, and the invoice number generator produces consistent, sortable invoice numbers. The tip calculator splits a restaurant bill fairly, down to the last cent.

All calculators use decimal arithmetic rounded to cents and show the formula they applied, so you can check the figures or explain them to a client. They are planning tools: tax rules, rounding conventions, and legal requirements vary by country, so confirm important numbers with an accountant or the relevant authority.
