How it works & useful details

Formula & assumptions

Tip is calculated on the pre-tax bill or bill plus the tax amount you enter. It rounds half up to cents. Optional rounding moves the total up to a whole currency unit and adds the difference to the tip. Splits use whole cents, assigning remainder cents to the first people. No automatic service charges are added; enter the bill amount you want to use.
