How it works & limits

Uses English short-scale names (one billion is 1,000,000,000), American wording without “and”, and hyphens from twenty-one to ninety-nine. Up to 21 integer digits and 12 decimal places are read exactly. Decimal trailing zeros are preserved as spoken digits.

This is plain number wording, not currency/check formatting or an ordinal converter. Negative zero is written as zero; leading integer zeros do not change the value.
