How it works & useful details

How to use this tool

By default, remove soft hyphen U+00AD, zero-width space U+200B, word joiner U+2060, and BOM/zero-width no-break space U+FEFF. These can be intentional, so review the output before using it.

How the result is calculated

Optional joiner removal targets U+200C and U+200D. Direction-control removal targets U+061C, U+200E–U+200F, U+202A–U+202E, and U+2066–U+2069. Space replacement changes U+00A0 and U+202F to ordinary U+0020 spaces.

Other characters, including ordinary whitespace, combining accents, variation selectors, and line endings, are preserved. This is a selected-character cleaner, not a complete Unicode sanitizer.
