How to use this tool
Choose a PDF and leave Pages blank to split every page, or enter a selection such as 1, 3-5. Each chosen page becomes its own PDF. Download files individually or prepare a ZIP; split outputs are limited to 100 MiB combined.
Limits and document support
Use an unencrypted PDF with 1–500 pages and a size below 50 MiB. Interactive forms are not supported; export a flattened copy first. New documents copy pages only. Document metadata, bookmarks, attachments, page labels, and digital signatures are not preserved; page links may stop working.
About this tool
Split PDF separates one document into individual PDF files so you can share or archive pages on their own. You can split every page or only a chosen selection such as 1, 3-5, and each selected page becomes a separate download.
The tool works entirely on your device. It copies pages into new documents, which keeps the original untouched and makes the output predictable: no re-compression, no rasterizing, and no upload.

Worked example
A 30-page batch scan of separate one-page invoices, with the page field left blank, becomes 30 single-page PDFs, available individually or as one ZIP. Entering 1, 3-5 creates four files, one each for pages 1, 3, 4, and 5. The combined output is limited to 100 MiB.
When to split
- Breaking up a batch scan so each invoice, receipt, or form can be filed on its own.
- Uploading documents to portals that accept only one page per file, such as some ID and visa applications.
- Sending one page, such as a signature page or a certificate, without sharing the rest of the document.
To split a document into multi-page sections, such as chapters, use extract PDF pages once per section instead, because split always creates one file per page. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so quality is unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
How is splitting different from extracting pages?
Extracting produces one new document containing the pages you keep. Splitting produces one file per selected page, which is what you want when pages should circulate separately.
What happens to the combined size of the output files?
Split outputs are limited to 100 MiB combined. If your selection is larger, split it in smaller groups.
Will the split files keep forms and signatures?
No. Interactive forms, document metadata, bookmarks, attachments, page labels, and digital signatures are not preserved, and page links may stop working.
How are the files named?
Each file is named after the original document with a zero-padded page number, such as report-page-007.pdf, so the files sort in page order.
